101 Dalmatians is a movie that kinda surprised me in how much I liked it, and not just because it’s about puppies (though that helped too).

Probably the best thing about it is that Cruella de Vil is a fantastic villain, both in terms of the story as well as her design. The fact that she’s a lanky, scrawny woman but wears a giant coat gives her an interesting silhouette, and her face has all these harsh angles that are rounded out by her coat.

It also works for character conveyance reasons: Cruella is a petty, harsh person who hides her unpleasantness underneath a veneer of wealth and class. Not unlike a certain somebody I know.
