Is Phobos cuisine different from Earth cuisine?

grogfella:

A little bit: They do still eat kind of the same nutrients that we do, but they have to be a little more crafty about it.

Since there’s so little available real-estate for farming or cattle (the whole landmass has about as many square miles of room as the entirety of New York state), a lot of the food is either flown in from off-world or made synthetically. This means that there’s a bit of a premium to pay for the 100% beef patty burgers that Cel likes so much, but on the other hand the advances in food science have also resulted in cheaper, more healthy and more nutritious instant meals sold in vending machines and convenience stores – in other words, literal Space Age food, sold absolutely everywhere and ready-to-eat. Perp is especially fond of Granny’s** Wholesome Meal Balls (now with 10% more meat!*)
